Henry Howard
Colorado born, Henry has an exceptional ability for writing original music and sharing his message that captures audiences young and old.
Henry has been writing music from the time he first picked up a guitar. At the age of 18 he wrote and recorded his first album, alongside his longtime friend Patrick Ayres, entitled “Home”. The smooth and simple nature of this album invited listeners to experience a very young artist and songwriter.
After that, Henry went on to college at Colorado State University to study and continue to play music. While a freshman at CSU he joined forces with four friends, including Ayres, to form the group "The Last Call". The Last Call had many accolades including airtime on college radio stations, live shows on public radio, inclusion into music events at Keystone Resort, as well as playing together with larger bands such as Twelve Cents for Marvin.
In Jan. 2009 Henry released a three song demo which features guitarist/friend Sean Harmer. This was also the launch of what is now Henry Howard Music.
While still in Ft. Collins, Harmer and Howard made a name for them selves by playing local bars and coffee shops alongside drummer/friend JD Raab. Venues included Avogadro’s Number and the famous Lucky Joes.
After 8 months of playing local venues in Ft. Collins, Henry discovered that his desire was to be more than just another musician. He wanted to share the purpose and meaning behind his music. He returned to Steamboat Springs to develop his craft as a storyteller, performer, and writer. While in Steamboat, he works with churches and youth groups to find the most effective way to deliver his music and his message. He also gains insight and wisdom while under the direction of multiple mentors. While in Steamboat his focus is to grow as an individual as well as serve his community in a personal way.
His music draws the ears of casual “pop” listeners while maintaining very intentional lyrics and composition. His message is crafted in such a way that every person is invited to consider and explore what is being shared.
His music, personality, and passion are captivating. His affinity for writing and performing music, and his ability to capture and share life is what makes Henry Howard truly special and unlike any other artist. “The goal is to excite, to inspire, and to create something that reaches beyond just me.” This encompasses Henry’s desire to influence the lives around him as well as experience his own personal growth. Anyone who knows Henry will not only attest to his aspiration for using his music to spread the good news, but also the enthusiasm he has for living out his faith on a daily basis.
